Baby You Can Drive My Car: Iconic 2007 Ford Mustang

By Saurabh Sharma

In its formative years, the 1964 Ford Mustang represented sporty design, value and performance. The soul of the car inspired many songs including the popular, “Mustang Sally,” by rhythm and blues singer Mack Rice. The 2007 Mustang usurps stylistic elements from the 60s giving the new car a bold “back to the future” feel. An exceptional engine and low wrap around driving position creates the cozy feel of driving in the 60s. A surprisingly quiet cabin with John Lennon and Paul McCartney singing “Baby you can drive my car, I’m going to be a star,” may enhance the authentic feel of this modern, yet iconic automobile.

When you look at the retro looking exterior of the 2007 Ford Mustang, the styling takes us back to an era when people preferred a minimal cabin unencumbered by electronics and gadgetry. The new Mustang communicates simplicity in design emanating from earlier models built in the 60s. For example, the prominent large front grill with round headlights recalls Mustangs from the 1967 to 1969 vintage; the sculpted side and broad taillights takes us back to 1964; the triangular side windows are reminiscent of Carol Shelby’s 1965 Shelby GT 350. Such details are not lost in the new interior either. The retro design of the speedometer has a certain jukebox feel, matching the cabin’s compelling fit and finish. The air ducts have a brushed metal look that is noticeably 1964 in style; the oversized steering wheel and color-coded speed dials that match the seats remind us of sipping a shake at a diner from the 60s. Retro design is the inspiring essence of the 2007 Ford Mustang.

Driving the 2007 Mustang takes some dexterity. Mustangs, after all, are the muscle cars from the decade of monumental social change. The clutch pedal and accelerator are well- positioned and there is abundant space within the cabin. The steering wheel is nimble, communicating good road feel. The only down side is that the five-speed gear shift is a bit clunky, requiring effort to be placed in gear properly. This is in sharp contrast with today’s popular short throw shifters that snuggle immediately into place. Driving this car requires some effort, but the ride quality is good with excellent braking. For longer drives, the seats are accommodating, but could use more lumbar support. Not diverting from what it was meant to be, the 2007 Mustang defines the paradox: modern classic.

The 2007 Mustang GT offers excellent value in its class based on its engine. The 4.6-liter V8 serves up 300 horses at 320 lbs. ft. of torque. The car reaches 0-60 mph in a mere 4.9 seconds with fuel efficiency of 17 mpg city, 25 mpg highway. The 4.0-liter V6 is standard on the base Mustang providing a 210 horsepower with fuel efficiency of 19 mpg city, and 28 mpg highway. A five-speed automatic is available as an option. The MSRP of $19,910 for the base and $31,145 for the GT keeps with the spirit of the 60s. The only drawback is the fuel economy for the V8 could be less thirsty.

The 2007 Mustang is available in many trims. For the V6 buyer, the Pony trim makes the most sense because it includes traction control in addition to upgraded suspension (with larger stabilizer bars), 17-inch wheels and fog lamps. Traction control enhances the road manners of this car enhancing road grip. The GT buyer in 2007 has the choice of 18 inch wheels, and more choices for personalized suspension tuning. All coupes have 50/50 split folding rear seats, but the convertible includes a well-insulated power top with a heated glass rear window. For additional safety, all Mustangs come with ABS and front side airbags designed for front and torso protection. Side airbags are available as an option, and we highly recommend you get them.

Historically, the Ford Mustang was commissioned by automotive pioneer Lee Iacocca, who in 1961, had a dream of building a mid-engine, two-seat convertible at an affordable price for the youth generation. The handsome car that represented his dream, rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9, 1964. It was penned by David Ash and Joseph Oros, and was initially powered by a 105 horsepower engine mated to a three-speed manual transmission. Unveiled at the New York World Fair, the original Ford Mustang had a MSRP of $2,368, and was launched with visibility on all three TV networks. Soon after, the car became a national sensation, becoming the most successful launch in automotive history. The 2007 Ford Mustang successfully re-connects the dots with the past by capturing the spirit of the original icon.

AFE Mustang Intakes

By Dan Stephens

AFE which is short for Advanced Flow Engineering, was founded in 1999 for the sole purpose that there was a lack of choice for in aftermarket for high performance air intake systems. They have a team full of engineers, machinists, production and sales people all working together to bring the industry the best that can be offered. AFE Filters has dedicated themselves to building a superior product that had special attention paid to the finer details, thus to set them apart from everyone else. AFE claims that their products produce the same as all the others with subtle differences to increase your performance.

First we will be talking about the different filter medias. AFE offers three different filter options. We will be talking about their use on the mustangs. The first filter media, on the standard mustang performance filters there is a 5-layer progressive mesh media. The second filter media called their Pro-Guard 7 there is, you guessed it seven layers. The third filter media is called their PRO Dry S Filter media and is an oil free filter. That means when it is cleaned it does not have to be re oiled with an oil regeneration kit. Only the 5 layer oiled filter and the pro dry S filter medias are available for the mustang. Second is pleat spacing, the aFe Mustang intakes are generally 25% taller and more spaced out than competitors filters. Third is the pleat shape. By having the pleat shape rounded it allows air to flow through the tops and bottoms of the pleats thus increasing air flow. Fourth is the seal shape. AFE uses a gradual bump seal made of polyurethane which stays soft and flexible to decrease the amount of heat and chemical damage. The final difference is the degree of wicking between AFE and the competition. "Wicking" is the amount of polyurethane that is absorbed by the cotton gauze media during the manufacturing process. They strive to minimize "wicking" on all of their intakes.

Now to what AFE mustang intakes have to offer. AFE offers several different products that cater to the different vehicle applications. Gains range from about 10 horse power to about 50 horse power. Depending on the model you may be getting more horse power to improve acceleration and optimized air flow to improve fuel efficiency. With the prices for gas the highest in history who these afe mustang intakes help out quite a bit with claims of 1 to 2 miles per gallon increases in fuel efficiency to the conservative driver. They also boast that they can increase your air flow from 10-75% which again translates to power and fuel economy increases. Advanced Flow Engineerings is an industry leader in the cold air intake market and is a significant contributor to the mustang performance industry.

A Used 1995 Mustang GT Is New To You

By Mike Herman

Before you start window shopping for a used 1995 ford mustang GT it is important that you understand what you are looking for and that you know what you are looking at. The Ford Mustang has been around since 1964 and through the decades Ford has unveiled many different Mustang models. The 1995 mustang GT was created with the competitors in mind. At the time the 1995 mustang GT was released the Camaro and Firebird were considered to be extremely popular rivals. Both cars were manufactured by well known and well respected car manufactures and boasted the latest innovations in technology, style, and safety.ส่วนที่จะให้แสดง

Any used 1995 ford mustang GT you find was built with the competition in mind. The 1995 ford mustang GT had to have the latest in technology, a stylish look, along with the signature mustang look. In addition to the look, style, and history of the mustang Ford had to equip this latest model with enough horsepower to stand up to the competition and satisfy the expectation of mustang enthusiasts who were eagerly waiting the 1995 mustang GT specs and initial road tests.

The used 1995 ford mustang GT you purchase will offer 215 horse power that is standard on all high end GT models. In addition to this great horsepower the used 1995 ford mustang GT will have a five speed manual transmission. If you think that the bonuses end there do not be deceived. The used 1995 ford mustang GT will have the same side scopes, trademark galloping horse that will never be duplicated and fantastic segmented taillights. All of these features were first seen in 1964 when the first Ford Mustang came off of the assembly line. This alone is enough to sell most mustang lovers and even if the average car shopper does not notice the resemblance there are many who will happily make the connection.

Another thing that will set your used 1995 ford mustang GT apart from other, similar, cars is the length. The 1995 mustang GT is an entire foot shorter than both the Camaro and Firebird that are considered its industry rivals. Not only does this feature make the car look great but it will also make the car much easier to drive. Having a shorter car makes it possible to maneuver with relative ease in all sorts of tight traffic situations. A Look At The New Old Mustang - The Mustang With The Retro Body

Ford was smart to introduce its new Mustang and it was a good year for the 2005 Ford Mustang that made good sales in the sports car venue. The new Mustang GT, which came with V-8 power, started its pricing at $24,995 with a 300-hp motor. Even though this was the only car with a stock 300hp motor in its class any import tuner can put down more power then any mustang.

Perhaps one of the best selling and most notorious models of the Mustang is the V-6 model. The car is at almost 20 grand and comes with a V-6 motor. Ford has always given what the consumer wants but also hasn't given anything turbo charged yet that I have seen. Hopefully this new Mustang can give drivers what they are looking for in a car and if not they can resort to tuners which are and can be the best of the best. Here are some of the many details about the new Mustang that you won't see anywhere else.

It has 16-inch aluminum rims that are cast - the rims are painted to give it flair and show some diversity. It gives you four disk power brakes with all season type of tire but you can change them and get better tires which is recommended . It has huge rotors and calipers to handle the speed that the car will be slowing down from at some points during ownership. Still, you can get upgrades such as a BREMBO big brake kit.

Air-conditioning goes stock with the car and it also comes stock with a rear window defroster as well. Dual power locks and windows come stock in the new mustang.

The new Mustang comes with a 210-horse power motor that makes 4.0 liter SOHC V-6 engine. Probably produces around 200 feet pounds of torque. Also comes stock with a 5 speed manual transmission also can be bought in automatic with electronic overdrive.

More features come stock like power windows, power locks, key less entry, rear wheel drive so it can be used to drift if you want, leather depending on package. There are many features to the new mustang.

Ford also provides the system in which if involved in an accident the air bags will automatically deploy to try and save your life. The buyer or owner can add anything they wish to the car to make it unique. It is advised that you customize the car and make it the way you want it.

Even though there is the Mustang there are many other cars that are beyond what the Mustang can give you. The Supra is a good one, 240sx with a swapped motor is a good one there are a number of cars that you can buy to compensate with a mustang. Like the Nissan Skyline comes with a rb26dett stock and produces over 270 horse power stock and over 280 feet pounds of torque without any upgrades.

Independent Review of Carroll Shelby Cobra & Mustang Casual Driving Shoes

By Norman Silverman

I have, over the past couple of months, put the new Carroll Shelby Suede Driving Shoe through an aggressive wear and use test and have been truly impressed by the results to date. A definite advantage to being director of a performance driving school is a level of credibility you can establish with automotive related product manufacturers.
The shoe design was supervised and approved by International Driving Champion, Tony Adamowicz. I compared the shoe to my regular competition driving shoe and a well known casual driving shoe. The first reactions were mostly visual. The Shelby shoe, from the style of the rubber molded sole to the overall shape, color and detail trim of the upper was a real grabber. Almost, every time I wore them, with jeans, casual slacks or my driving suit, I got unsolicited comments. The close up inspection only added to the initial reaction. The shoe has a leather lined, removable cushion sole that, not only slightly molded to the shape of my foot during wear, but enhanced pedal feel when driving. My usual driving shoe is terribly uncomfortable to walk in, but my feeling had always been that the thin sole helped with pedal feel. Reality was, that, in addition to letting me walk in them all day, the cushion sole actually enhanced the feel. Comfort and quality throughout. The underside of the tongue and the inside heel section all lined with very soft leather. Continuing with the visual examination showed tight, even stitching, no glue spots and perfectly attached faux carbon fiber trim. One of the most interesting features was a molded heel compartment that, unlike my casual driving style shoe, keeps your heel from wobbling when driving or standing.

I wore the Shelby shoes for walking and driving 10 to 12 hours a day, an average of 3 days a week for nearly two months. The performance tire style sole design provided firm skid resistant contact with both floors and pedals. There was a bare minimum of visual wear and cleaning with a suede brush or a damp cloth only took a few seconds. This product can easily be found through use of a search engine.

2003 Mustang SVT Cobra Review

By Naomi

Marcus Tullius Cicero once said "It is not by muscle, speed, or physical dexterity that great things are achieved, but by reflection, force of character, and judgment." Well Marcus you have left out one very important thing that will help you achieve greatness - the Ford Mustang.

In 1993 Ford had a brilliant idea to create a special in-house team that will focus on pure power and performance. They named the group the Special Vehicle Team and for years it was the only one of its kind. Chief engineer for Ford SVT was John Coletti who was able to push out some of the best and most powerful cars on the market.

In 2003 Coletti had completed his 10th year in operation of SVT and sold 100,000 high performance cars. This included the SVT Lightning and the fourth generation SVT Cobra Mustang. In order to celebrate this milestone they created one of the highest rated horsepower and torque Mustangs that they could during that time. The total cost of this special edition Cobra was $34,750 with the convertible costing $38,850.

The 2003 SVT Cobra Mustang is built with the four-valve aluminum heads that can also be found on the Mustang Mach 1 - but it is also built with an Eaton Roots-type supercharger. This engine pushes out 390 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 390 pound-ft of torque at 3500 rpm.

It also comes with a T-56 six speed manual transmission, bigger tires, improved brakes, and stiffer rear spring that can handle more power. The interior is finished with some brushed aluminum accents, heavily bolstered Nudo leather bucket seats, and titanium colored gauges.

The SVT Cobra Mustang is just one of hundreds of models. Ford Mustang FAQs has a list of reviews on some of the classic and most recent models.

2007 Ford Shelby GT-H Mustang Sold For $250,000

By Jason Moore

The very first Ford Shelby GT-H Mustang came out forty years ago in 1966. And now, on the fortieth anniversary of its existence, its creator, the Ford Motor Company, along with the Hertz Corporation and Shelby Automobiles, have just together created the newest set of Ford Shelby GT-H Mustangs. These groups produced 500 units of this remarkable vehicle and automobile experts and car aficionados have claimed that this move has become the rebirth of the said vehicle.ส่วนที่จะให้แสดง

The newest 2007 Ford Shelby GT-H Mustang bears the design and the style of the very first ones that rolled off the company’s manufacturing plants. However, this new one also holds a wide variety of upgrades and changes that makes it quite unique in its own way. Sure enough, the 2007 Ford Shelby GT-H Mustang can be called a vehicle that shows off a compatible harmony of the classic and the contemporary. And although superb accessories for this vehicle can also come quite hard to find like 1966 Ford Fairlane parts, the Ford Shelby GT-H Mustang still can be spruced up using various parts made for Ford vehicles.

Out of the 500 units of the Ford Shelby GT-H Mustang, only 499 were prepared and were made ready for the groups’ rental program. And what happened to the last one? The one unit that was spared for rent was set up for auction. During the EAA Air Venture for this year which is also called the “Gathering of Eagles”, one 2007 Ford Shelby GT-H Mustang was auctioned off by Spanky, who is an auctioneer of Barret-Jackson, along with Edsel Ford and Carroll Shelby. And for a whopping sum of $250,000, this unit was sold.

Tom Poberezny, the president of EAA and the chairman of AirVenture, exclaims, “Ford Motor Company’s support of EAA and its programs, in partnership with Hertz and Shelby Automobiles, is supplying a truly dazzling addition to this year’s Gathering of Eagles auction. Aviation enthusiasts enjoy performance both in the air and on the ground, and the 2007 Ford Shelby GT-H Mustang was a spectacular highlight of the evening.”

2010 Ford Mustang Model

By Naomi West

For years the Mustang has been an American icon. It is one of the few muscle cars that is not only affordable - but comes with the power that we all love to have in a car. For the past five years Ford has been using the same style and design that takes its cues from the late 1960's model. But for the 2010 model they are switching things up.

Engineers from Ford have improved the aerodynamics for the 2010 Mustang and redesigned several key features. The basic theme of the Mustang has not been lost and still stays true to the inset headlamps and forward canted grille. The turn signals though have been repositioned into the pocket with the headlamps and seem to be slightly smaller.

The hood has been re-designed with the "power dome" in the center of it. When you look at the edge you can see that the hood and the fender have been partially concave to leave a ridge that travels back to the A-pillar. The entire leading edge of the hoods now is able to curve down to help the airflow around the nose and over the top of the vehicle.

One of the things that people did not like about the 2005 model was the interior because it was made with plastic and rather cheap materials. That is why in the 2010 model Ford got rid of these materials and instead opted for an aluminum dash and trim. It is now smooth and looks much more sophisticated.

Ford decided to carry over the components for the drive train and suspension to this model. However, they did make some improvements on the V8 GT model. Paul Randle - the chief engineer - stated that the most current Mustang Bullitt has been labeled the best Mustang because it has the right amount of power and handling. That is why they chose it to be the baseline for the brand new GT model.

The 2010 Mustang GT still use the three valve 4.6 liter V8 engine. It is now able to push out 315 horsepower and 325 pound-ft of torque. The air intake has been redesigned so that the fresh air will be drawn from behind the grille instead of from the wheel wall. The duct from the air filter box all the way to the throttle body has been redesigned and straightened to help reduce flow restriction. To make for a quieter ride they have added new sound installation.

There is one new feature that Ford will be adding to the 2010 Mustang - electronic stability control. It will default on the car. On the V6 Mustang model drivers will be given the option to turn this feature off. While the V6 model can switch it to a performance mode. The 2010 Mustang was debuted at the LA Auto Show and will go on sale in the middle of December.

The 2010 Mustang Model has been given more modern features and power. Because of this more and more consumers are vying to get their hands on it. For more information on this model check out Ford Mustang Faqs.

The Ultimate Mustang Exhaust for a Ford Mustang

The Ultimate Mustang Exhaust for a Ford Mustang
The Ford F250 Mustang Exhaust came under the public’s eye in 1964. And unlike other makes and models debuting during the recession following the 1950’s, this hot rod successfully managed to capture the attention and whims of a considerable number of American consumers—attention that has allowed its name to stay in the market up to this day.Of course, its success did not happen overnight. More than four decades of sustained engineering research that went to it, the Ford Mustang has been undergoing several modifications in its design to keep pace with the changes happening to the world at large.
Keeping up with the times and hitting on the right look was as essential as providing consumers with the kind of Ford Mustang that would deliver what it promised. But the basic idea remained untouched. And after 43 years from the day it was first introduced to the automotive world, the Ford Mustang has become a classic. If you drive a Ford Mustang, you understand what this means.
And as with all things from Ford, the Ford Mustang surely does not stint on its parts. This means that only the best parts, from the screws to the wheels, from the door handle to the exhaust system, go into a Ford Mustang. Among the many alterations applied to the Ford Mustang, one cannot help but zero in on the improvements to its exhaust system. Like most automotive companies that adjust their designs to align with the tenets of green technology, Ford has been seen fit to equip its Ford Mustang 2005-2006 with the Flowmaster Exhaust System. The result is not only a machine that performs better, drives faster, and lasts longer—but one that also cares for the world we inhabit. The Flowmaster Exhaust System certainly delivers on that.
Why so much fuss on Mustang Exhaust systems? It’s a matter of striking a balance between thriving on details and getting the big picture. A Mustang exhaust that endures and performs maximizes the power of the engine, perks it up so that the car’s performance is greatly enhanced. It does not stop there. A Mustang that runs with a great exhaust system, in turn, is also a good thing for the environment and for everyone else living and breathing on the planet. But of course, it’s always a good thing when a way is found to avoid adding harmful gases to the earth’s already burdened atmosphere. From Mustang exhaust systems that work to the level of pollution we inhale, the connection exists.
It reminds us that we do not have to march down the streets in protest against the latest logging violations that have our forests drying up. Taking care of the world doesn’t often require big, whooping steps and flashy speeches that get your face splashed in the media for a day or two. The small ones—like choosing a better Mustang exhaust system—can help as well. In a time where a lot of things just get smaller and smaller—from snazzy phones, point and shoot cameras to compact computers to mini mini water bottles, you’d think we’d remember that more often.

The Wild Horse - Approaching A Mustang Or Unhandled Horse

By Phil Tragear

Hi, I have a 7 month old filly. When she was born she was turned out to run wild with her mother. I bought her at 5 months old not really understanding how I would start. She now comes to her name but won't let me put a hand on her. She will walk out of the field to her bucket and will go back in after eating, but still won't let me near her. If I do approach her she turns her back end around and she will kick out at head height. She ain't a small filly. A friend of mine had her for 3 weeks and he had her leading, got a rug on her and was able to approach her in a stable. I got her back, had her in a stable and had to turn her into the field as she became dangerous and there was no way I could enter. Should I just let her come to me and see what happens or do you think I should cut my losses and sell her? What tips can you give?
Well where do we start with a situation like this? I'll avoid asking why one would consider taking on a wild foal with no experience or research.... and skip to dealing with the problem at hand.
Having a more confident and experienced friend or trainer take over and train the youngster until she can be handled normally may be a very wise idea. Then the friend can train you to interact with your horse when she has been calmed.
Otherwise, the aim is to keep your confidence up around your horse so that you continue to enjoy her company safely and she begins to look up to you, and to increase her confidence and trust in you so that an instant fight or flight response is not provoked at your slightest move. This is going to take a lot of patience on your part.
One basic idea is to place yourself in a confined but not too small (not a stable stall) area with your horse and remain absolutely still, avoiding eye contact. Hold your hand out in front of you so that when she does come up, it will be easy to touch her. Eventually the horse will be curious enough to approach you. Then start speaking in a quiet and soothing manner. If she makes a move away from you, stop the noise. When she's ok with speaking, try rubbing her a tiny bit with your outstretched hand. Stop if she flinches or moves away.
The idea is to gradually increase the area and amount of contact while keeping the horse from spooking so much that she runs from you. If it takes daily approaches over weeks, fine. It can be done a lot quicker, but sometimes it takes the time it takes. Better to get it right than have a frightened and dangerous animal on your hands.

When Is It Time To Add 20 Inch Wheels To Your Mustang?

When Is It Time To Add 20 Inch Wheels To Your Mustang?
Brad Gibala
With the popularity of custom wheels continuing to grow one would have to ask themselves when should I put new wheels on my car. Most Ford Mustang owners are happy with the stock wheels that come with the car. The factory has started to pump out some nice wheels over the last couple years with a wide selection of styles.
You know its time to put a set of twenty inch wheels on your Mustang if your car has no accessories on it to begin with. This is especially true if you purchased a V6 engine. Why even buy a Mustang that does not have a eight cylinder in it. Those cars are not made to just get around in and anybody who knows anything about sports cars can pick your six cylinder car out from a mile away.
If you do not want to add performance parts to your car then the twenty inch wheel is the way to go. The wheels will tell everybody that you want your car to be noticed. It tells car lovers that you bought yours for a reason and that you don't want it to be just like everybody else.
The biggest reason is that with so many Mustangs on the road you know for a fact that you are going to be sitting a traffic light one day and there is going to be the same car sitting right next to yours. A uncomfortable feeling will come up between you and the person in the other car. Both of you will be thinking that you can't believe somebody else has the same exact car.
Its not like you own a Ford Focus or a Ford Fusion where you bought the car to just get around in and you don't care if your morning commute has a fleet of those cars following you. You want your Mustang to be the coolest around and its time to make a change.
See what your Mustang would look like with a set of custom mustang wheels or 20 inch mustang wheels at http://custommustangwheels.co.

You Need A Mustang V8 4sale

You Need A Mustang V8 4sale

By Mike Herman

Have you recently noticed an advertisement for a Mustang V8 4sale at a reasonable price? Seeing that advertisement was probably an exciting moment that was quickly over shadowed by doubts and fears.
