Heavy Duty Ford Pickup Parts

Heavy Duty Ford Pickup Parts
By Ethan Lee

Vehicles should not only be made for the normal road as there are still a lot of places with only off-road terrains. That is the concept of Henry Ford and so he started manufacturing vehicles specifically for off-road use and so his Ford Pickup Trucks were born into this world. One of the cars that immortalized Ford's niche in the car industry, is unarguably the Ford Mustang. This is the car that started it all. Since its debut to the public, its sales has been in an upstream direction. It caused panic to other competing brands which were then unprepared for the birth of such a ride. General Motors and Chevrolet were left with the battle to create the car that could top the Mustang. Years later, the Ford Mustang is still one of the bets coupes to ever grace the industry. With its high quality Ford Mustang Parts, one cannot contest how this car once dominated the top.

These Pickup Trucks should always be kept in their proper condition and only by regularly checking the Ford Pickup Parts could owners ensure their longevity. The Ford Pickup Parts are made for heavy duty performance because of the obvious use for off-road terrains. Thus, these parts undergo through a lot of stress.

Among the Ford Pickup Parts that receive a lot of stress is the Ford Radiator. Ford Pickups are most likely used in long trips under the heat of the sun. This is because summer breaks are the mostly likely vacation time for the families when they don't have to worry about school. The Ford Radiator holds the responsibility of making sure that the engine does not go into overheating. It disperses the heat absorbed by the coolant from the car's engine. It is among the vital parts that contribute to the efficiency of the vehicle's operation system.

The Ford Radiator starts to malfunction if the coolant has absorbed too much heat and it is already beyond its capacity of heat absorption. A thorough check up is the only thing that could save the Ford Radiators from completely deteriorating. Driving on the road and suddenly needing to stop because of an overheating problem is a really embarrassing situation.

The only thing that could save drivers from this shame is to check the Ford Pickup Parts like the Ford Radiator and make sure these are working well. Car owners driving old Ford models should already be on alert and might as well replace the old Ford Pickup Parts before they experience problems that could be caused by these things. Remember, nothing, even the most durable Ford Pickup Parts could withstand the wear and tear problems brought by the test of time.

2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid and Ford Performance Parts

2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid and Ford Performance Parts
By Jenny McLane

The Mercury Mariner Hybrid uses both gasoline engine and electric motor, which gives a 50% increase in driving efficiency with a much lower emission. All this is achieved by the use of 6 powertrain components, which work in perfect unison. Ford motor has 40 patents in hybrid engine technology and 70 pending.

The greatest appeal of the Mercury Mariner Hybrid is that it satisfies both your environmental conscience and sense of style. Mariner Hybrid retains the clean, tailored appearance of the conventional Mariner, said Peter Horbury, Executive Director, North American Design.

Being a full hybrid, the Mercury Mariner employs both series- and parallel-hybrid characteristics. The gasoline engine shuts down to conserve fuel during coasting, at stoplights, and at low speeds. The electric motor, drawing electricity from the battery, is able to drive the vehicle without assistance up to 25 mph.

It has 2.3-liter DOHC Duratec four-cylinder engine with 2 ac electric motors with 250 D-size nickel-metal hydride batteries in a compact, rear-mounted, sealed package. The vehicle could go up to 25 mph with only electric power. The gas engine automatically shuts down at stoplights, during coasting or while vehicle is crawling at low speeds. 2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid has a greater fuel economy in city driving where electric motor runs the vehicle up to as much as 25 mph.

The Mariner hybrid has 16-inch, five-spoke aluminum wheels wrapped with 235/70R-16 all-season tires and a discreet air vent in the driver's side rear-quarter window that helps cool the rear-mounted nickel-metal hydride battery pack. It has an all-new Intelligent 4WD System, which automatically transfers torque from front to rear as required by road conditions without driver intervention.

Mariner powertrains include a 2.3-liter 16-valve I-4 and a 3.0-liter 24-valve V-6 Duratec engine. Both engines come with a standard 4-speed automatic transaxle.

It also features a front end with the vertical, satin-aluminum-finished waterfall grille framing the floating Mercury emblem. The fascia features a stacked-element theme with complex refractor headlamps over inset fog lamps. A high-impact-plastic (HIP) aluminum-look bumper insert and U-shaped air intake below the bumper.

Mariner has the latest level of the Personal Safety SystemTM, one of the most comprehensive and technologically advanced safety systems available in any vehicle in any class. Seat-mounted front side air bags and side air curtain air bags are optional.

Mariner Hybrid fits perfectly with Mercury's design philosophy, says Richard Gresens, Mariner chief designer. It's a stylish, elegant design with clean simple lines. It's an urban sport-utility, comfortable going to a club downtown, yet still possessing all of the capability and versatility of a sport-utility. At the same time, it's environmentally friendly.

To continue Ford's tradition of offering environment friendly, outstanding value and class leading amenities, auto parts companies like Partstrain offers top of the line Ford Parts. Why Japanese Cars Are So Affordable

Why Japanese Cars Are So Affordable
By Craig Miya

If youve ever wondered why theres so many Japanese cars in New Zealand then read on. In the beginning the importation of vehicles into New Zealand was a strictly regulated and reserved only to a selected few. The new car industry with its manufacture and assembly plants all throughout the country largely controlled the inward flow of imported vehicles which kept the prices of both used and new cars at a premium.

In 1989 the government deregulated imports licensing which swung open the gates for the flood of Japanese imports. Japan has a population of over 140 million and is the leading manufacture of motor vehicles in the world. To maintain a high level of domestic new car sales the government imposes strict regulations which encourage (more so forces) consumers to regularly purchase new cars.

In Japan all vehicles are governed by a vehicle certification process which is called shaken which is similar to a WOF. Depending on the age of the vehicle the owner must regularly up-date the shaken which is expensive and on average will costs the owner a couple of grand each time.

When a vehicle is purchased brand new, the shaken is valid for 3 years. After 3 years the next shaken update is valid for a further 2 years. When the vehicle is 5 year old, the shaken must now be updated every 12 months. imported cars in new zealand

Remembering that the shaken costs on average a couple of grand each time. This along with interest rates as low as 3% means that most consumers opt to trade their vehicles back into the dealer and up-date to a new car. This creates a surplus of used cars in Japan which are then exported to countries all over the world, including New Zealand. Japanese imported cars for sale in new zealand

New York International Auto Show to Host Ford's Concept Cars

New York International Auto Show to Host Ford's Concept Cars
By Anthony Fontanelle

Motor shows have always been one of the foremost gatherings that auto makers take advantage of so as to showcase the advances they have made in the design and performance of their vehicles. More often than not, a motor show is characterized by an influx of concept vehicles.

This type of vehicles is designed using cutting edge design concepts, advanced engine technology and would also come loaded with futuristic features. These vehicles are only used to showcase the technologies developed by car manufacturers.

The features shown on these vehicles will only be used on production vehicles after some time. The reason for this is that the features on concept vehicles are significantly expensive to produce. This means that further development is needed to bring down the cost of production of features used on concept vehicles for them to be made available for mass produced vehicles.

The upcoming New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), dubbed as the biggest event of its kind, will be hosting concept vehicles from United States second largest car manufacturer, Ford. This year, the Ford Motor Company will be showcasing three concept vehicles - two from Ford and one from Lincoln. All of these three concept vehicles are showing the path that Ford Motor Company is willing to take in the near future.

The first of the three concept vehicles is the Ford Airstream. The design of the concept vehicle is largely influenced by the film 2001: A Space Odyssey which is a masterpiece done by Stanley Kubrick. The futuristic design of the vehicle is evident in its aluminum finish and radically designed windows and extended windshield. The vehicle is not only futuristic in terms of its exterior looks but also in the way it is powered. The Ford Airstream is a plug-in hydrogen hybrid fuel cell vehicle. This means that aside from the fuel cell, the vehicle is also equipped with a powerful battery pack which provides added power. The vehicle is an electric vehicle in a sense that it runs on electric power alone thus no harmful emission is released.

Another concept vehicle that Ford will be unveiling at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan is the flex fuel vehicle that is the Ford Interceptor. The concept is loosely based on the Ford Mustang and provides just as much power as its cousin. The vehicle runs on E85 which is a combination of 85 percent bio-ethanol and 15 percent conventional gasoline. The bio-ethanol burning engine can produce as much as 400 horsepower. That amount of power could only be stopped by highly efficient brake components like EBC brake pads. To match the power of the vehicle, Ford gives the Interceptor advanced safety features like their patented four-point belts and suspenders. For passengers on the second row of seats, the Ford Interceptor provides inflatable safety belts.

Aside from the two concept vehicles from Ford, one of its divisions, Lincoln, also developed a concept vehicle. Lincolns MKR Concept is a four-door coupe packed with a long list of luxury features. What the Lincoln MKR brings to the table is the uniqueness of their luxury trims like the leather which is chemical free. The powerplant of the concept is a 3.5-liter V6 engine with twin turbocharger and direct injection feature. The engine runs on gasoline and can produce as much as 415 brake horsepower.

Ford Escape Hybrid: First GasElectricPowered SUV and Ford Replacement Parts for Its Exceptional Pe

Ford Escape Hybrid: First Gas-Electric-Powered SUV and Ford Replacement Parts for Its Exceptional Pe
By Jenny McLane

The Ford Escape Hybrid is a fuel-saving, gas-electric hybrid-power version of small, four-door sport-utility vehicle, available with front-wheel drive (FWD) or four-wheel drive (4x4). Its power train has 2.3-liter, four-cylinder gas engine rated 133 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, 129 pounds-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm; synchronous AC electric motor rated 94 hp from 3,000 to 5,000 rpm; 330-volt battery pack under rear cargo floor; electronically controlled, continuously variable transmission. Maximum power output is 155 hp because gas and electric do not make their maximum power simultaneously.

It has a 2.3-liter, Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder gasoline engine with a 70-kilowatt permanent-magnet traction electric motor, regenerative braking and a 330-volt battery pack. The combination provides performance on par with a V-6. The hybrid never has to be plugged in because the engine recharges the batteries, by the electric motor and by heat recovered as energy during braking.

The Escape hybrid really wants to be an electric vehicle, but the gasoline engine adds power for acceleration, charges the batteries and powers the air conditioning, said Mary Ann Wright, Ford's director of Sustainable Mobility Programs

Unlike electric cars, hybrids never need to be plugged into a recharger. Regenerative braking recharges the Ford Escape Hybrid, which converts electric motor into a generator to help refill the battery pack during stops; and by a recharging system powered by the gas engine.

Designed to last for the life of the vehicle and can be found under the Escape's cargo floor, the battery pack, which contains 250 small batteries roughly the size of D cells mounted in series doesn't infringe on cargo space.

The software and computerized controllers that make everything work effectively is the key to a hybrid. Small badges identify the Ford Escape as a hybrid. The instrument panel is a little different because it contains a gauge that shows when the electric motor is the source of power and when the gasoline engine is running. An optional LCD display in the center stack gives instant and average fuel economy as well as a pictorial representation of how the power is flowing at any instant.

The Escape's hybrid engine shuts down at rest to conserve fuel. When driving resumes, the SUV's 70-kilowatt traction motor generator can launch the vehicle on electric power. When it's needed, the generator starts the gas engine without the increased emissions produced when a conventional engine is started.

The Escape Hybrid also produces as little as half the amount of carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas) as a conventional gas engine. It produces 97 percent less hydrocarbon and oxides of nitrogen emissions than vehicles meeting todays required emission standards. That qualifies it for the Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV) standards designation.

Being the leader in the development of low emission vehicles, Ford continually develops projects that will someday result in practical hydrogen-powered vehicles with no greenhouse gas emissions.
As zealous as Ford in continually upgrading its products to suit every client needs, Partstrain is always looking for superior and quality workmanship for its product lines. Only the finest Ford auto body parts comprise its stock.

Driving and Safety Features Set Mustang Breed Apart

By Roberta Sullivan

Whether it is driving pleasure or safety measures under consideration, the 2008 Ford Mustang will always be a breed apart. The 2008 Mustang engines - the 4.0L V6 and the 4.6L V8 - are both dynamic breeds that will surely satiate every driver's thirst for more and more power. The V6 packs 210 horsepower and 240 lb.-ft. torque, while the V8 lugs 300 horsepower and 320 lb.-ft. torque. Both come with standard 5-speed manual transmission or optional 5-speed automatic transmission.

Making the ride more enjoyable are the lush interiors of the 2008 Mustang. Standard fare can be improved through the Interior Upgrade Package for features that include MyColor instrumentation panel, special aluminum accents on panels and door handles, Ambient Lighting, luxurious seats with leather trims, the 2008 climate control and navigation systems combining GPS technology with DVD mapping. The Shaker 500 Audio System dishes out either soothing soft music or invigorating rock fare from a 6-disc CD and MP3 player or the standard SIRIUS satellite radio. Feel the beat upfront with subwoofers delivering the power.

Underneath all that jazz and pizzazz, the chassis bears the hard work of Ford engineers to ensure the rigid torsion, independent front suspension, 3-link solid-axle rear suspension and rear wheel drive all work seamlessly together for the most comfortable and responsive handling any Mustang can muster.

Ford will not rest until safety balances with comfort, and that safety is most evident in the 2008 Mustang. First off the list is the trade-marked Personal Safety System found on all Mustangs, with its sensor system that helps determine air bags' performance by measuring impact and crash severity vis-?-vis seat positions or occupancy. Front air bags, 3-point safety belts, side air bags for front passengers, anti-lock power disc brakes, and the LATCH anchor and tether system for children, complete the safety package.

Safety and security are further enhanced with the remote keyless entry system, the SecuriLock and Active Anti-Theft Systems. SecuriLock is a trademarked passive anti-theft system that involves ignition key security codes for passive control. The ordinary run-of-the-mill carjacker will not be able to decode the SecuriLock. The Active Anti-Theft System on the other hand features perimeter inclination sensors and interior motion sensors. Intrusion alarms that go on for extended periods courtesy of an extra battery for the purpose, added to the horn system, will not only deafen a thief but definitely drive him away as attention is drawn.

With these driving comfort and security measures built-in onto the Mustang, is it any wonder the car is a sought-after breed?
